SitaWare community meets to discover, share, and influence at 2018 User Forum

More than 130 attendees from 16 countries gathered in Stockholm for the 2018 SitaWare User Forum, making it the largest User Forum in Systematic's history.

This year's SitaWare User Forum took place in Stockholm with more than 130 attendees from 16 countries.

The 2018 event ran from the 23rd to 25th of April and was the largest to date, bringing together members of the military from around the world, as well as representatives from industry and government agencies.

“The User Forum provides a unique opportunity for us to engage with our customers and partners, it is a great way for us to understand customer requirements and shape the development of our products,” explained Michael Holm, Systematic CEO.

“The informal environment encourages open dialogue, enabling the many attendees to learn from one another and further develop best practice in their use of SitaWare. The event also allows us to brief on our product roadmaps and highlight the innovative features that we will be introducing across the family of solutions.”

This year’s User Forum featured presentations from the Danish Army and Navy, New Zealand Defence Forces, and the US Army, among many others. It also included a variety of company-led sessions, among the examples were the application of SitaWare in the maritime domain, enhancing situational awareness for the dismounted commander, and the introduction of 3D functionality in SitaWare Headquarters.

The event also saw Systematic open its ‘Innovation Garage’, where delegates had first-hand briefings on a range of projects undertaken by the company, such as the integration of a shot detection sensor with SitaWare and the ability to geo rectify imagery.

SitaWare’s application in crisis response and peacekeeping operations was also examined via the VIKING 18 Exercise, which was concurrently being held in Sweden. “We are grateful to the Swedish Armed Forces for providing us with the opportunity to witness SitaWare Headquarters in operation in support of a multinational, globally distributed training exercise,” Michael Holm said.
